Apostille Translation

We can provide apostille translations in over 140 languages, which are vital for any documents required for official purposes in a foreign country. As a leading agency, Global Voices can obtain and provide perfect translations for these important certifications.

What is Apostille Translation?

Apostilles provide certification for translated documents that will be used for official purposes abroad. This can include important documents such as birth, death, and marriage certificates, as well as other paperwork. This documentation is often only recognised by the receiving public authority if they have an apostille which, in some countries, will also have to be translated into the relevant language.

In order to provide apostilles, documents must first be certified and notarised by the translation agency responsible for the content. At Global Voices, apostilles for the majority of apostille translations for our UK-market projects are supplied by the Legalisation Department in the Foreign Office in Milton Keynes. The process usually takes between 1 and 3 weeks, though it can sometimes be longer, depending on holidays. After we send the documents over for the apostille service, they will be posted directly to the client upon completion, with a tracking reference if required.

All of our skilled, native linguists have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in their translation roles, guaranteeing entirely accurate apostille translations. With our complete knowledge of the apostille process, all important documents can be certified and perfectly translated for the country of your choosing.

Do I Need Apostille Translation?

Obtaining an apostille is essential for any documents that will be used for an official purpose in another country. For example, documents will require apostilles if an individual is moving abroad for employment purposes. Without an apostille, the documents are illegal and will not be accepted in the state, which could affect that person’s employment and citizenship rights.

Apostilles are applied to different documents for a number of reasons. University certificates and transcripts usually require an apostille for those seeking work in a different country, while businesses setting up branches abroad will need certification for company documents such as Articles of Association and Certificates of Incorporation.

Though the process typically takes less than a month, apostilles for certain embassies could potentially take up to 6 months to be finalised. There are also certain factors to consider depending on the country for which you require an apostille. For instance, the legalisation of documents for Saudi Arabia require apostilles to be issued by both the Foreign Office and the Saudi Arabian Chamber of Commerce. Furthermore, apostilles for Angola must be issued with a green ribbon—any other colour and the documentation will be rejected.

Many nations will only accept documents if the apostille is also translated into the appropriate language. At Global Voices, our expert translators have the experience and linguistic talent to deliver perfectly translated apostilles for the country you require. Our team is on hand to provide all the ongoing guidance and information you may need regarding the process.
