What type of interpretation do you need?

We provide two types of face-to-face interpretation. These are Consecutive and Simultaneous. Choose the one that best fits your needs or give us a call to get a free pre-event consultation.

1. Consecutive interpretation: In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter listens before they talk. The speech is divided into segments, one person speaks and then pauses; one or many people listen whilst the consecutive interpreter repeats what has been said in the target language. Consecutive interpreting is a very popular type of interpreting as it does not require any interpretation equipment.
2. Simultaneous interpretation: In simultaneous interpretation, the interpreter speaks the message in the target-language as quickly as he or she can formulate it from the source language, while the source-language speaker continuously speaks; sitting in a sound-proof booth, the interpreter speaks into a microphone, while clearly seeing and hearing the source-language speaker via a window and earphones. Simultaneous interpreting is highly skilled work. As simultaneous interpreters work in real time there are no second chances, they must get it right first time.

Interpreters are not magicians…

Think of an interpreter as someone who has just joined your company to start a new job. There will undoubtedly be acronyms, technical terms and politics which will be unfamiliar to the interpreter. Briefing him or her on such issues before the assignment will lead to a far more satisfactory day for all involved.

Interpreters will always find it useful if you can provide some background information about the company and its products well ahead of the assignment. Provide drafts of speeches and explain any specialist vocabulary.
