What type of interpretation service do you need?

There are two main types of interpretation services: consecutive interpretation and simultaneous interpretation.

Consecutive interpretation

In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter listens before they talk. The speech is divided into segments whereby one person speaks and then pauses and then the consecutive interpreter repeats what has been said in the target language. Consecutive interpreting is a very popular type of interpreting as it does not require any interpretation equipment.

Simultaneous interpretation

In simultaneous interpretation, the interpreter speaks the message in the target-language as quickly as he or she can formulate it from the source language, while the source-language speaker speaks continuously. Sitting in a sound-proof booth, the interpreter speaks into a microphone, while clearly seeing and hearing the source-language speaker via a window and earphones. Simultaneous interpreting is highly skilled work. As simultaneous interpreters work in real time, there are no second chances - they must get it right first time.
